Australia Post Changes CN22 Label Weight Limit for US-Bound Parcels: What It Means for Merchants Using Koi.app

Australia Post Modifies CN22 Label Weight Limit for US Shipments: Effects on Merchants Utilising Koi.app
Updated on Monday, October 28, 2024

Australia Post is making changes that will impact how merchants handle shipping labels for US-bound parcels. Starting 1 November 2024, the CN22 label can now be used for parcels up to 5kg, rather than the previous 2kg limit. This change aims to simplify labelling requirements for Australian merchants sending small, low-value parcels to the US, ultimately streamlining the shipping process.

What’s Changing?

The CN22 label, previously limited to parcels weighing up to 2kg, will now apply to US-bound shipments up to 5kg. This adjustment eliminates the need to switch to the CN23 label for parcels weighing between 2kg and 5kg, and it covers both Express and Standard international shipping options.

Key Benefits for Merchants

  • Time Savings: Merchants save time by processing labels more efficiently without needing to switch between label types.
  • Simplified Shipping Process: The change will ease the shipping process for the US, especially valuable during high-demand seasons.

Criteria for Using the CN22 Label on US-Bound Parcels

To use the CN22 label for US-bound parcels, the following criteria must be met:

  • Parcel dimensions must not exceed 90cm in total (L + W + D combined).
  • No single dimension should exceed 60cm.
  • The total consignment value must be under $500 AUD.
  • The parcel weight must be 5kg or less.

Note: For other countries, the CN22 weight limit remains at 2kg.
