Australia Post discontinues MyPost Business carbon-neutral deliveries

Australia Post ends Carbon Neutral Deliveries to focus on direct emissions reduction from 12 August 2024.
Updated on Tuesday, August 13, 2024

Australia Post has announced the end of its Carbon Neutral Deliveries (CND) program for MyPost Business (MPB) customers, effective 12 August 2024. The CND program, active since 2019, involved Australia Post purchasing carbon offsets to compensate for emissions from MPB parcel deliveries.

Koi simplifies shipping for your e-commerce business by allowing you to effortlessly create Australia Post eParcel, MyPost, and Parcel Contract labels directly from your Shopify, Etsy, and Amazon stores. This integration streamlines your order fulfillment process, ensuring quick and efficient delivery management across multiple platforms.

Reasons for the Change

Australia Post has decided to focus on reducing its own carbon footprint rather than relying on offsets. This decision aligns with the company’s enterprise emissions reduction target, validated by the Science Based Target Initiative.

Impact on MPB Customers

 • Effective Date: From 12 August 2024, MPB deliveries will no longer be carbon neutral.

 • Action Required: Customers must remove references to carbon neutrality from their websites, packaging, and other communications by 12 August 2024.

Continued Sustainability Efforts

Australia Post remains committed to sustainability through:

 • Operating Australia’s largest electric delivery vehicle fleet.

 • Increasing solar electricity generation.

 • Offering dual-use satchels to reduce packaging waste.

These initiatives aim to reduce the overall carbon footprint of Australia Post’s operations and deliveries.
